The Department of Meteorology announces that an increase in rainfall is expected in the northern, central, Uva and eastern provinces of the island from today.
The announcement states that there may be occasional rain in Eastern and Uva provinces, Polonnaruwa, Matale and Hambantota districts.
It is further reported that a few places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts may experience rain or thunder in the evening or at night.
