Today (17th), Sabaragamuwa, Western, Central, South, North-West, Uva and North-Central provinces may experience rain or thundershowers at some places in the evening or at night, says the Department of Meteorology.
Also, some places in Sabaragamuwa province and Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts may experience heavy rains of more than 50 mm, while the rest of the areas will have mainly rainless weather conditions, the department said.
The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
