The Department of Meteorology says that some rains may occur in Uva province and Ampara, Batticaloa and Hambantota districts.
The department stated that rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the evening or night in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
The Department of Meteorology advises the public to take essential steps to prevent the threats caused by transitory high winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
