The Department of Meteorology says that today (15th) there may be several periods of rain in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and in Galle, Matara, Manuwara and Nuwara Eliya districts. The department stated that there is a possibility of rain or thundershowers at a few places in the evening or night in Uva and Eastern provinces.
In the western slopes of the Central Highlands, in the North-Central and North-Western Provinces and in Hambantota and Trincomalee districts, the winds blowing from time to time may become gusty between 40 and 45 kilometres per hour. The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
