The Department of Meteorology says that the turbulent nature of the lower atmosphere around the island continues.
The department also mentioned that rain or thundershowers might occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, South and North-West provinces from time to time.
In Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-Western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts, there is a possibility of heavy rain of about 100 mm in some places.
In the rest of the island, rain or thundershowers may occur in the evening or at night, and heavy rains of more than 75 mm may occur in some places.
The Department of Meteorology requests that people take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary solid winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
