The Department of Meteorology says that there may be some periods of light rain in Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Polonnaruwa and Matale districts.
The department stated that rain or thundershowers might occur at places in the evening or night in Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-Western and Southern provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
