The Department of Meteorology announces that there is an atmospheric condition favourable for the occurrence of thunderstorms in the southern half of the island this afternoon.
The announcement states that there may be rain or thundershowers in the evening or night at a few places in Southern, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
It is further stated that there is mainly rainless weather on the rest of the island.
