The Department of Meteorology says that rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Ratnapura, Kalutara, Galle and Matara districts during the evening or at night.
The department stated that there is mainly rainless weather on the rest of the island.
Winds are blowing from the northeast and the wind speed is likely to be around 20 to 30 kilometres per hour.
The Meteorological Department further stated that the wind speed may increase from 40 to 45 kilometres per hour from time to time in offshore areas from Mannar to Colombo via Puttalam and from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota.
