The Department of Meteorology says there may be several periods of rain in Eastern and Uva provinces and the Polonnaruwa and Matale districts.
The department stated that scattered rain or thundershowers might occur in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts during the evening or night.
The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
