The Department of Meteorology says that rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Ratnapura, Kalutara, Galle and Matara districts during the evening or at night.
The department stated that there is mainly rainless weather on the rest of the island.
The wind is blowing from the northeast direction and the wind speed is around 20 to 30 kilometres per hour also there is a possibility that the wind speed will increase from 40 to 45 kilometres per hour from time to time in the offshore areas from Mannar to Puttalam, Colombo to Galle and from Matara to Hambantota to Pottuvil.
