The Department of Meteorology further stated that today (12th) at 12:11 in the afternoon, the sun will rise over the areas of Mankulam, Periyakulam, Kuratiyawa, Morawewa and Mahadivulwewa.
The Department of Meteorology says that there may be rain or thundershowers in a few places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts during the evening or at night.
The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
