The Department of Meteorology says that on today (10), there may be several periods of rain in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts. There may be some light rains in the Northern Province and there may be rains or thunderstorms in a few places in the evening or at night in the Uva Province.
The department further mentions that there is a possibility that the winds blowing from time to time in the North-Central Province and in the districts of Puttalam, Hambantota, Mannar and Trincomalee may turn into strong winds of around 40 km per hour.
