The Department of Meteorology says that there is mainly rainless weather on the island today.
The department stated that the winds are blowing from the northeast in the sea areas around the island and the wind speed is around 25 to 35 kilometres per hour.
From Kankasanturai to Colombo via Mannar and Puttalam and from Hambantota to Pothuvil, the wind speed may increase to 40 to 50 km/h from time to time in the offshore areas.
The department further stated that the sea areas off the coast from Kankasanturai to Colombo via Mannar and Puttalam and from Hambantota to Pottuvil may be a bit rough from time to time and the rest of the sea areas around the island may be slightly rough.
