The Department of Meteorology says that some light rains may occur in North, East, Uva and North Central provinces and in the Matale district.
The department stated that rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the evening or night in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts.
The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
