The Department of Meteorology says that there may be several periods of rain in Eastern, Uva and North Central provinces and in Hambantota, Matale and Mullaitivu districts.
The department stated that rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the evening or night in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts.
The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
