The Department of Meteorology says that in many parts of the island, rain or thundershowers may occur in places during the evening or at night.
The department stated that there may be rain in the morning in the Northern, North-Western and Western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
Heavy rains of about 100 mm may occur in some places in Northern, North-Central, Eastern and Uva provinces and Puttalam district.
The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
