The Department of Meteorology says that there may be scattered showers or thunderstorms in many parts of the island today (04) in the evening or at night.
The department stated that some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, South and North Central Provinces and Trincomalee, Vavuniya and Mulathivu districts may experience heavy rains of more than 75 mm.
From Puttalam to Matara through Colombo and Galle, there is a possibility of rain or thundershowers in the morning.
The Department of Meteorology urges the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
