The Department of Meteorology says that today (01) there may be several periods of rain in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts. The department stated that there is mainly rainless weather on the rest of the island.
In the western slopes of the central hills, in the northern, north-central, southern and northwestern provinces and in the Trincomalee district, winds blowing from time to time may become gusty winds of about 40 kilometres per hour.
