The official election of the Sri Lanka Cricket Institute started today (20) at 10.00 am at the Jake Hilton Hotel in Colombo. It is reported that it has been decided to hold the 62nd Annual General Meeting of the Cricket Institute at the same time.
In this election, members are to be appointed for several positions including the main positions of the cricket body.
Headed by Ms Malani Gunaratne, a retired judge of the Court of Appeal, the committee consisting of retired High Court judge Shiromi Perera and retired Sri Lankan Administrative Service member Sunil Sirisena conducts the selection process.
The regulations published in the two special gazettes issued by the Minister of Sports on December 14 last year will be effective from the first of August, so the new regulations will not apply to the Sri Lankan Cricket office elections held this year. (Divaina)
