The Department of Agriculture announces that there is no risk of a shortage of rice in the future as there is sufficient stock in the country.
Currently, the paddy marketing board has a reserve of 7070 metric tons of paddy, said the department.
The Department of Agriculture further said that if the price of rice in the market rises excessively, the Rice Marketing Board will convert the remaining rice into wholesale rice if necessary to control it.
