Shelton Premaratne, a well-known veteran musician in Sri Lanka, passed away yesterday (30). He was 94 years old when he died. It is further stated that he died while residing in Sydney, Australia.
He has provided music for some of the greatest stage plays ever created in Sri Lanka such as ‘Hunuwataye Kathawa’, ‘Kontare’, ‘Mantri Hamuduruwo’, ‘Hotabari Yudde’, ‘Thahanchi’ and ‘Kuweni’.
We all know the song “Yuddheta Man Giya Gani Gedera Thiya (යුද්දෙට මම ගියා ගෑනි ගෙදර තියා)” is a famous song among Shelton Premaratne’s songs.
