The resolution to remove Janaka Ratnayake from the post of Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission was passed by 46 majority votes in Parliament yesterday (24).
Accordingly, 123 votes were received in favour of the proposal and 77 votes were received against it. The government had submitted this proposal to the Parliament against the way the chairman of the Public Utilities Commission, Janaka Ratnayake, had acted in that position.
