Reconstruction work started on the Northern Railway from Mahawa to Omanthe.
Accordingly, it is stated that the activities have been started under the leadership of Indian High Commissioner Gopal Bagle and Minister of Transport and Mass Media Bandula Gunawardene.
It is said that after carrying out the renovation works, the time is taken to travel by train from Colombo to Jaffna – Kankasanture can be reduced by one hour.
