The Department of Motor Traffic says that no provincial character will be issued for vehicle number plates from yesterday (01).
Accordingly, Commissioner General Nishantha Anuruddha stated that the provincial character of the number plate will be removed during the registration and transfer of vehicles.
He further mentioned that there are cases where one vehicle is sold several times between provinces and the drivers do not come to get the number plate even though it is newly printed and accordingly it has been decided to remove this expense.
