The Importers of Essential Foods Association says that the prices of sugar and wheat flour have increased. Accordingly, the wholesale price of a kilogram of sugar has been increased by 25 rupees, said its chairman Nihal Seneviratne.
Also, the wholesale price of a kilogram of wheat flour has been increased by 10 rupees and with the increase in the price, the new wholesale price of a kilogram of wheat flour is 210 rupees.
The reason for the increase in the price of wheat flour is the removal of the Rs. 03 tax concession imposed on wheat flour.
