President Ranil Wickremesinghe said that he has instructed the Minister of State and other officials to submit a report within a month on the acceleration of the program to move the country towards a digital economy.
Speaking about the Revenue Administration Management Information System or RAMIS system established by the Inland Revenue Department for tax revenue collection, the President said that he had discussed it as the Prime Minister in 1993 as well.
But the President said that it is regrettable that there are still discussions about it even in 2023, and the program to move the country towards a digital economy should not be delayed at all.
