The new resolution submitted to the United Nations Human Rights Council on the human rights situation in Sri Lanka has been passed by a majority of 13 votes.
It is stated that 20 votes were received in favour of the proposal and 7 votes against it.
20 member countries have abstained from voting on the relevant resolution.
