It is reported that Maj. Gen. W. H. K. S. Peiris of the Gajaba Regiment has been appointed as the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army. It is stated that Maj. Gen. Peiris has been appointed for the duties of that position with effect from December 16th.
He was promoted to the rank of Major General about two years ago, on May 7, 2021, and before assuming the duties of this position, he performed duties as the Security Forces Commander – West.
