Plans to host a unique runaway show at Sigiriya to highlight Sri Lanka’s rich cultural legacy and scenic beauty have been revealed by Tourism Minister Harin Fernando.
He made this announcement last week at a press conference held in conjunction with the ITB (Internationale Tourismus-Börse) in Berlin, Germany: one of the nation’s most prestigious fashion events, Colombo Fashion Week, would have the iconic Sigiriya Rock as its background.
Fernando emphasized the need to utilize Sri Lanka’s many features to promote tourism, characterizing the project as a singular chance to present Sigiriya to the world.
It was hinted by him that the purpose of arranging events such as the Colombo Fashion Week against the magnificent background of Sigiriya is for Sri Lanka Tourism to captivate tourists and draw attention to the distinctive experiences the nation has to offer.
