Professor Chandana Jayaratne, Director of the Astronomy and Space Science Unit of the Physics Department of the University of Colombo, says that the last lunar eclipse of this year can be seen this afternoon (08).
The professor mentioned that although it appears as a full lunar eclipse in other countries, it appears as a partial lunar eclipse in Sri Lanka.
Accordingly, Prof. Chandana Jayaratne further stated that it can be seen on the eastern horizon of Sri Lanka as a partial lunar eclipse for 31 minutes from 5.48 pm to 6.19 pm.
