The island state of Vanuatu in the Pacific Ocean was shaken by a strong earthquake. The strength of the earthquake was recorded as 7 units on the Richter scale.
Tsunami warnings were also issued after the earthquake. Media reports indicate that it was a reason to scare the people of Vanuatu. The earthquake occurred on the sea floor 400 kilometres away from the town of Port Vila on the island of Vanuatu. (Reuters)
