The animal product industry has emphasized that the lack of sufficient supply of grass for animal feed has had a high impact on the promotion of the animal production industry in Sri Lanka because the cultivation of grass required for animal feed in Sri Lanka is not done at the business level or privately.
They have shown that if the farmers grow grass for sale, they can buy it at a high price, or if the government gives them land for grass cultivation, they can invest their money and grow grass.
Therefore, in order to cultivate grass as an agricultural crop in Sri Lanka, the animal product industry has made a request to name it as a farming crop and accordingly, taking this matter into consideration as well as according to the current program to promote the animal production industry in our country, if the grass is an agricultural crop The Ministry of Agriculture has decided to do this.
