General (retired) Pervez Musharraf, the former military dictator of Pakistan, passed away on Sunday in Dubai following a protracted illness. According to his family, the 79-year-old who planned the Kargil War in 1999 had amyloidosis, a rare condition brought on by a buildup of an abnormal protein called amyloid in organs and tissues all across the body.
Musharraf passed away in a hospital in Dubai.
At the American Hospital Dubai, he had been receiving medical care. Since 2016, he has been residing in Dubai.
