Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen met with American Speaker Kevin McCarthy amid China’s strong opposition. Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen was on a tour of Latin American countries. Foreign media have shown that when she came to California, USA to go back to Taiwan, she met Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
It is also said that a group of US Democratic and Republican Party politicians came to meet the Taiwanese President.
China still considers the island nation of Taiwan as its own. That is why China opposes Taiwan’s presidential relations with the US. (Reuters)
