The Afghan Taliban government says it will reopen its embassy in India’s capital, New Delhi. In addition to the main embassy in New Delhi, the consulates in Mumbai and Hyderabad will continue to provide services, according to a statement issued by the Afghan Taliban government.
To close the embassy and consulates in New Delhi, the Taliban government decided that the government of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not get the diplomatic support the Taliban government needed and that there was no point in maintaining relations with the Indian government.
However, resuming embassy operations, the Afghan Taliban government has clarified that its services will continue with the aim of providing necessary services to the Afghan nationals in India.
