Sri Lankan cricketer Kamindu Mendis has etched his name in the history books by becoming the first player in Test cricket to score 50+ runs in each of his first eight matches.

This remarkable achievement sets a new world record, highlighting Mendis’ consistent batting prowess since his Test debut.

Last year, Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel became the first player in Test history to score 50+ runs in each of his first seven matches, a record that Mendis equalled in the previous Test.
