The 27th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) started last June 5 in St. Petersburg. The economic forum is scheduled to be held till June 8. The main theme of this year’s Forum is “The Formation of New Areas of Growth as the Cornerstone of a Multipolar World”. So far, more than 18,600 participants from 139 countries and regions, including Russia, have confirmed their attendance.

According to SPIEF’s official website, the Sultanate of Oman will participate in SPIEF 2024 for the first time. More than 6,000 Russian and foreign business representatives from over 3,000 companies in 75 countries and regions participated in the forum held from June 14 to 17, 2023.

More than 900 contracts worth 3,860 billion rubles (about $43.2 billion) were signed during that period. “The unprecedented interest of foreign partners and the media shows that Russia’s economic model of development and integration has demonstrated its competitiveness against the background of serious restrictions and pressures of the Russian market and, in general, the collective West. Multinational and multicultural, value-based Russia is becoming a growth centre in the emerging multipolar world,” said Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee.
