St. Joseph’s team managed to record a victory of 5 wickets in the 49th ODI cricket match held between Maradana St. Joseph’s College and Bambalapitiya St. Peter’s College. In this match held at the Colombo Sinhala Sports Club Stadium, St. Peter’s players who won the toss and batted first scored 156 runs while St. Joseph’s team passed the target by losing 5 wickets in 41 overs and 5 balls.
Nathan David, who came in as the opening batsman and played an outstanding inning, scored 53 runs in 79 balls when he was bowled by Avintha, putting the St. Peter’s players in dire straits. Awinta De Alwis, who played outstanding bowling, managed to take 3 wickets for 27 runs, while Yenula Devtusa, Shevon Daniel and Lahiru Amarasekara took two wickets each. Hirun Kapurubandara managed to score 50 runs with six fours and one six while facing 59 balls for St. Joseph’s team.
