Considering a request made by the Japan Cricket Association, Sri Lanka Cricket has taken steps to allow the Sri Lankan emerging cricket team to participate in a match tour in Japan in May. During this tour, the rising team of Sri Lanka is going to play 5 Twenty20 matches against the Japan national team, a member country of the International Cricket Council.
The Japanese national team, which is hoping to qualify for the 2024 T20 World Cup, will play in the East Asian regional final next July, and the preparations for that match will be well-received in the tournament against the rising team of Sri Lanka. The Japan Cricket Association is confident that it is possible.
The Sri Lankan team is scheduled to leave for Japan on May 8th to participate in this tournament.
