The Sri Lankan Rupee has ranked third in the world in terms of depreciation of the local currency against the US dollar.
This has been mentioned in the latest report released by Professor Steve Hanke, an economist at John Hopkins University in America.
He points out in his report that according to that report, the Sri Lankan Rupee has depreciated by 47.79%.
Zimbabwe and Cuba are in the first and second places in the world in terms of depreciating their local currency against the US dollar respectively.
