It is reported that Chinese scientists, the Chang’e-6 lunar robotic probe, sent the soil samples from the Far Side of the Moon to a research laboratory for further research.
The capsule of the Chang’e-6 returned to Earth yesterday (25) carrying soil samples. The capsule was parachuted into a Chinese territory in Mongolia.
China has also previously sent a robot to the moon’s dark side. However, this is the first time that a robot has been sent to the dark region of the Moon to retrieve soil from the Far Side of the Moon. The amount of soil which the Chang’e-6 lunar robotic probe brought was about two kilograms. (AFP)
