The medical staff has managed to remove the world’s largest and longest kidney stone during a recent operation at the Colombo Army Hospital. Accordingly, the Sri Lankan Army stated that it has been included in the Guinness World Records.
Army doctors performed this operation on June 1st, and it is said that this kidney stone is 13.372 cm long and weighs 801 grams.
Dr Lt. Col. (Physician) K., Head of Genitourinary Department of Colombo Army Hospital, urologist. Captain (Dr.) WPSC Pathirathne and Dr Tamansha Premathilaka headed by Sutarshan and assisted by Col. (Dr.) UALD Perera and Col. (Dr.) CS Abeysinghe as an anesthesiologist.
