The customs authorities stopped Shah Rukh Khan and his crew for hours at a Mumbai airport because they had some pricey and opulent watches with them.
Around 2:30 AM, the customs officers halted Shah Rukh Khan at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport’s private terminal. They were carrying watches valued at Rs. 17.86 lakh, according to officials.
They did, however, receive permission to go after paying the Rs 6.88 lakh customs fee. Six cases of pricey watches, including an Apple iWatch valued at Rs. 70.000, were discovered by officials.
According to sources, when all the formalities were completed, Khan and his manager Pooja Dadlani were permitted to exit the airport. However, a couple of his team members, including his bodyguard, were apprehended and released the following morning.
“There is no red channel or green channel at the terminal meant for private planes.” Every luggage undergoes screening at the general aviation (terminal),” said an official, as per Indian Express.
The actor and his crew had just returned from an international book fair that had taken place in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. He received the Global Icon of Cinema and Cultural Narrative Award on the occasion. (WION)
