The Department of Meteorology says that the heat index is expected to be at a level that calls for “attention” in several areas of the island today (14).
Accordingly, the Department of Meteorology further stated that hot weather is expected in some places in the Eastern and North-Central provinces and in Colombo, Gampaha, Kurunegala, Kilinochchi, Vavunia, Mulathivu and Hambantota districts.
