A meeting was held between the United Nations Population Fund representatives and Mr Ruwan Wijayawardena, Senior Advisor to the President on Climate Change, at the Presidential Secretariat.
Matters such as accountability for meeting sustainable development goals have been discussed here. Mr Ruwan Wijayawardena said that UNFPA representatives said that UNFPA is committed to supporting Sri Lanka’s national evaluation capacity development as transparency strengthens a country’s governance.
Member of Parliament of Samagi Jana Balavega Mr Mayantha Dissanayake also participated in this meeting. Sri Lanka is the first and only country in South Asia to endorse a national evaluation policy officially. (Lankadeepa)
