The Minister of Power and Energy, Kanchana Wijesekera, has requested the Committee on Government Finance to conduct an investigation into the allegations and false statements made against the tender sent for the purchase of coal needed by the country.
Commenting on this, the Chairman of the Committee on Government Finance, Dr. Harsha De Silva stated that he had discussed the request with the speaker.
The Chairman had also said that the Auditor General is also going to start an investigation into this immediately.
