President Ranil Wickramasinghe said that since the agreement with the International Monetary Fund has been passed by the Parliament, the chairman of the Public Finance Committee should carry out the work in accordance with it. The president also said that the rules of committees and advisory councils should be decided by the discussion of the MPs meeting in those councils.
President Ranil Wickramasinghe expressed these views in the discussion held yesterday (07) with the members of the ruling party and the opposition in Committee Room No. 01 of the Parliament. The President also proposed to appoint Dr Harsha De Silva, Member of Parliament of Samagi Janabalawega, as the new Chairman of the Committee on Public Finance. (Lankadeepa)
