About 30 corruption scams have been revealed by the report of the five-member committee headed by the former High Court judge Mrs Kusala Sarojani Weerawardena to look into the administrative and financial problems of the Sri Lanka Football Association. Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Mr Roshan Ranasinghe stated yesterday (04th) that the committee’s report revealed that the former officials who were in charge of the football institution from 2014 to 2022 were involved in fraud and corruption.
The minister also said that the former officials who were found to be involved in corruption and fraud will not be given the opportunity to run for the upcoming elections. The Minister made the comments at the Duncan White Auditorium of the Ministry of Sports and Mrs Kusala Sarojani Weerawardena presented the report to the Minister yesterday. (Divaina)
