The Foreign Employment Bureau urges people not to fall for people who cheat money by saying that they will provide jobs in countries like Poland, Romania, Israel, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, and the Maldives.
Due to the current situation in the country, due to the interest of a large number of people to go for foreign jobs, the complaints are increasing day by day regarding fraudsters who advertise on social media and websites and claim jobs in the respective countries.
The Foreign Employment Bureau urges people to find out whether the agency is a legal entity that holds a license from the bureau before giving a passport or money to any person or organization to go for a foreign job.
The public can obtain information on the legitimacy of employment agencies through the Bureau’s official website www.slbfe.lk or by calling the Bureau’s 24-hour information center hotline number 1989.
