Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has clarified that the Indian government was not accused of the killing of Canadian Sikh human activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar with the intention of angering India but with the aim of knowing the truth about the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
The Indian government has rejected the accusations made by the Prime Minister of Canada against the Indian government. According to the Indian government, Hardeep Singh Nijjar is a separatist ‘Kalistan’ terrorist leader. ‘Kalistan’ separatists are a group of people who are demanding a separate area of governance for the Sikhs of India.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused the Indian government while attending a special session of the Canadian Parliament. With that, a diplomatic crisis was created between India and Canada. Canada’s ambassador to India and Canadian diplomats staying in India were given 5 days to leave India.
‘Kalistan’ separatists operate in Canada. India has on many occasions alleged that they have the patronage of the Canadian government. Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot dead in June 2022 in front of a Shik mosque in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada.
